Inspiring Others to Reach New Heights
So happy to participate in another CVC! One of the lectures at this year’s San Diego conference brings together some of my closest friends and colleagues: Andreas Pahl, Debbie Hill, Dr. Steve Noonan, Dr. Karen Rentas and attorney Jack Douglas. Our session is Real Discussions; Real Results and we’ll be going over some classic issues at work: the front versus the back and the what to do about cliquish gossiping.

My good friends and HR experts, Pahl and Hill (Hill was responsible for traveling to NJ to help me start the New Jersey Veterinary Managers Association eons ago…and in true Hill fashion, brought chocolate treats for all the attendees) will give us some insight from a policy standpoint. Dr. Noonan will open everyone’s eyes to the enormous physical and emotional benefits of creating a positive workplace culture. Psychologist Karen Rentas will give us some tips on what we can do to make difficult disciplinary meetings go well; how to react if our employee becomes excessively emotional (starts to cry or gets angry); and attorney Jack Douglas, as part of the VHMA’s FREE legal advice to members, weighs in from a statutory perspective.
This is an entire conference in an hour! Watch just a brief clip of psychologist Dr. Karen Rentas discussing how to handle employees who cry or get angry during difficult discussions.
Additionally I’m very excited to be reunited with two of my favorite dental experts, Dr. Heidi Lobprise and Vickie Byard of Pet Ed. We’ll be conducting a Full Circle Session for your entire team designed to improve your practice’s dental compliance.
My late night session on Thursday, December 3rd is called Time Suckers. We’ll explore those duties that suck the life and time out of us as managers and the latest technology to streamline things and stay on point. Bring a pen and LOADS of paper. There are WAY too many ideas in this session.
And finally, I’m proud to present 9 hours of practice management education on Saturday afternoon and all day on Sunday. Almost better than Church…wait as a second…is that a good thing? 🙂
See you in San Diego, everyone!
