The Diversity and Inclusion Workshop for Veterinary Practice Leaders

The fact that women are the predominant gender in the veterinary field today is not news to members of the VHMA. Women in veterinary medicine are impacting nearly every aspect of our profession from recruiting and hiring, to benefits and succession planning. Managers and veterinary practice leaders who create workplaces based on the principles of diversity and inclusion are the ones who will succeed in attracting and retaining the very best in our profession.

In this workshop format, Brenda Tassava will share the results from roundtable discussions with women in veterinary medicine (made up of practice owners, associate veterinarians, and practice managers from around the country). Attendees will learn about the needs of working women in veterinary medicine, and in small groups will map out practice inclusion plans that will be welcomed by today’s veterinary practice teams. Collaborative wisdom and experience from all levels of leadership in our profession lends depth of insight into the benefits of bringing diversion and inclusion to successful veterinary workplaces.
